Some Things, You Just Have to Memorize

Here's one such pair: Longtime (adj.) is solid, but long-standing (adj.) is hyphenated.

Sometimes, the importance of the hyphen can be overlooked with negative consequences. During our "recreation," we may want to try a "re-creation" of former moments of enjoyment.
